When we were embarking on our Business Process Management studies, we were like many others struggling to get beyond the obvious. We wanted to able to describe how already communicated theory, nice words and visions could turned into operational mechanisms. Eventually, we ended up with the Value Driver Model©

The full Value Driver Model© shown to the right is gradually developed over a number of years and is a product of our own intense discussions, as well as dialogues within a wider network of Enterprise Architecture (EA) and Business Process Management (BPM) enthusiasts.

The understanding of BPM differs significantly around the world, ranging from modelling and documentation of very detailed flows in technical systems and up to the full and ambitious interpretation of BPM as a strategic management discipline.

At End-to-End, we subscribe to the definition by Gartner below and you will notice how this definition and our Value Driver Model© are fully aligned.

At End-to-End we firmly see BPM as a strategic management discipline and believe that our Value Driver Model© as it looks today gives a comprehensive picture of the elements and mechanisms that must be included and defined if a strategy for BPM should be successful. Used as a reference for a company, we believe the model can ensure that critical aspects are timely considered and that relationships and responsibilities remain balanced.

We do know that some may be reluctant to accept our ideas as they may challenge the approach taken in many already established projects. But we also know that many find that the Value Driver Model© provides refreshing and convincing new views on BPM, EA and Value Management.

Please give it a try. Test your own BPM strategy against the model and our value driver approach. Consider your possible establishment of a BPM unit and the roles defined in our Value Driver Model©.

If something is difficult to compare or interpret in your company context and you will like to get in touch, you will find our details under the "contact" link.

"Business process management (BPM) is the discipline of managing processes (rather than tasks) as the means for improving business performance outcomes and operational agility. Processes span organizational boundaries, linking together people, information flows, systems and other assets to create and deliver value to customers and constituents."
